Pine Needles

Pine needles are basically the “leaves” of the Pine Tree. They commonly shed year-round, which is problematic when trees are located near gutters. Needles either shed individually or in small clumps of 3-4 connected needles. Pine needles are relatively lightweight and have a tendency to blow long distances. It is not uncommon for pine needles to blow 150 feet from the base of the tree, especially in stronger winds. If you have pine trees in your yard, you may also find pine cones blocking your gutters.
