Q. What's the difference between Leaf Solution's micro mesh screen and reverse curve gutter guards?
A. Micro screen gutter guards utilize a fine mesh screen as the filtering mechanism to allow water to flow into the gutters while keeping out all leaves and debris. Leaf Solution's micro mesh screen has approximately 8,000 holes per square inch, which is small enough to keep a grain of sand out yet allow water to flow through the top of the screen into your gutters. Micro screen gutter guards seal your gutters to prevent leaves, debris, animals and insects from accessing your gutters. Micro screen gutter guards are the newest generation systems on the market.
Reverse curve gutter guards incorporate an aluminum or plastic solid cover over the top of your gutters. The cap or hood attaches above the gutter opening and acts as a barrier to keep leaves out of your gutters. Water flows across the surface and around a curved nose into your gutters. Reverse curve gutter guards have openings between the cover and gutter lip that allow water to enter your gutters. Depending on the brand of reverse curve system, openings into the gutter can be anywhere from .25" to more than 1 inch, which is why it is difficult to prevent debris from entering the gutters. Reverse curve gutter guards have been around since the early 1900's.
Q. Will water actually flow through the tiny holes in the micro mesh screen?
A. YES. This is the most common question we receive from prospective customers. The micro mesh screen is comprised of approximately 8,000 holes per square inch, and the water flows right through the screen and into your gutters. We have tested the screen in extremely heavy rain, and it works every time -- even if debris is on top of the gutter guards! In valleys, we offer a slightly larger weave screen that is still small enough to keep out debris but large enough to accept a higher water volume.

Q. How long has Leaf Solution been on the market?
A. Leaf Solution was introduced to the market in 2003 and was the first micro mesh gutter guard system to use medical grade stainless steel screen.
Q. How does Leaf Solution attach to my gutters?
A. Leaf Solution installs under the first course of shingles on your roof and is screwed to the gutter lip with 1/2" sheet metal screws. By securing under the shingles, Leaf Solution will maintain the same slope as your roof, which will aid in preventing leaves and debris from collecting on the gutter guard surface.
Q. How does Leaf Solution prevent birds, squirrels, bees and mosquitoes from entering the gutters?
A. Once the gutter guards are installed, any exposed ends will be capped with aluminum flashing to enclose the gutters so there is no way for leaves, debris, animals or insects to get into your gutters. This is particularly important because birds, squirrels, and insects such as mosquitoes and bees like to nest in gutters that have been covered by reverse curve systems since it provides shelter from the elements. This can be a costly nuisance to you because nesting animals can clog your gutters and cause damage to your home's exterior, stinging insects will breed and multiply around your home, and you may have to call exterminators to help rid your home of these problems.
Q. Will leaves and debris collect on top of Leaf Solution?
A. Leaf Solution is designed to secure under roof shingles, so the gutter guards will assume whatever pitch your roof has on it. Some homes have a constant pitch, while the roof angle on other homes vary from one roof surface to the next. While it can happen, the steeper the roof pitch, the less likely that leaves and debris will collect on the gutter guard surface. Other factors, such as wind velocity around your home and the proximity of the trees to your roof can also play a factor.
